Our Story
Nearly two decades of concrete work across Middle Tennessee — family-owned, locally rooted, and committed to the kind of quality that outlasts the competition.
How It Started
Cornerstone Concrete Co. started in 2006 with a single crew, a used ready-mix account, and a clear belief: Middle Tennessee deserved a concrete contractor that treated flatwork as craft rather than commodity. Founder Marcus Webb had spent eight years working for a large commercial concrete company before deciding the residential market — where homeowners invest their own money and live with the results every day — deserved the same engineering standards that commercial clients got. He walked away from a steady job and started taking calls in his truck.
The first few years were residential driveways and patios in South Nashville, word-of-mouth referrals building slowly. By 2010, the company had grown to three full-time crews and was taking on stamped concrete work in Brentwood and Franklin — the more technically demanding decorative work that separates contractors who understand concrete from those who just pour it. By 2015, Cornerstone had established itself as the concrete contractor of choice for Nashville's design-conscious homeowners who cared about base preparation, mix quality, and finish consistency as much as they cared about price.
Today, Cornerstone operates across eight communities in Middle Tennessee with the same commitment that drove the company from day one: show up on time, be honest about what the job requires, and pour concrete that outlasts the competition. The company is still family-owned — Marcus's daughter Elena joined as Operations Director in 2019, bringing a project management background that streamlined everything from scheduling to customer communication. The crews have grown, the service area has expanded, and the technology has improved, but the approach hasn't changed.
The People
Small enough to know your name. Experienced enough to get it right the first time.
Founder & Lead Estimator
19 years running Cornerstone. Marcus handles all major estimates personally — he believes the person pricing the job should understand concrete deeply, not just quote from a spreadsheet. Former commercial concrete foreman.
Operations Director
Joined the family business in 2019 after five years in construction project management. Elena oversees scheduling, customer communication, and crew coordination — making sure the experience matches the quality of the concrete.
Senior Crew Lead — Decorative
James leads our stamped concrete and specialty finish crews. Fourteen years of decorative concrete experience, including work on award-winning residential projects. Particularly skilled in color matching and pattern alignment on complex multi-zone installs.
What Drives Us
A beautiful surface on a weak base fails. We start every project with base assessment, soil evaluation, and drainage analysis — because what's under the concrete determines how long the top holds up.
Every quote is written, itemized, and explained in plain language. We don't leave line items vague, and we don't change the price at the end. What's in the quote is what you pay.
If your concrete can be repaired, we'll tell you — even when replacement would be more profitable for us. We'd rather build a 10-year relationship than win a single job the wrong way.
We show up when we say we will. Site visits happen within the window we commit to. Projects start on the date in the contract. Concrete work disrupts your property — we minimize that with clear, reliable timelines.
Middle Tennessee weather doesn't always cooperate. When conditions require rescheduling, we communicate early, adjust proactively, and never pour concrete in conditions that would compromise the finished result.
Our residential installations carry a written workmanship warranty. If something fails because of how the work was done — not normal wear or external events — we come back and make it right.
